the subject of no news is good news here is the news, and its not good
Christian Lyth 11 yr old MX racer from Ruskington nr Sleaford travelled to
the Culham National MX race track with the knowledge that he had to finish
in front of his nearest rival to be able to take the championship to a last
round decider at his home track of Eastrax nr Kings Lynn. Never having been
to Culham before this was the plan to go for the championship. The championship
round would only be counted on Saturday's results although the meeting was
held both Saturday and Sunday.
Training looked to be OK and at a new track Christian got to grips with it
very quickly and looked fast enough for the job in hand.
MOTO 1
This is where it all went wrong, A fantastic start and Christian takes the
lead at the first corner only for his bike to cut out by the second corner,
the bike quickly restarted and Christian was still able to hold onto third
two laps in and the bike failed again and seemed to be running out of petrol,
Christian was distraught as right now any chance of winning this championship
had disappeared
MOTO 2
Despite cleaning all the fuel lines, the tank, the carburettor the second
Moto was no better the bike just kept stopping
MOTO 3
One of Christian competitors (Matt Wild) seeing Christian's plight said the
cure was to change to ignition coil this we did and very disappointed Christian
managed a 5th place finish.
Sunday
MOTO 4,5&6
Christian came home 5th 4th and 4th and on the Sunday with a bike that worked,
Christian did beat his nearest rival but it counted for nothing.
Next and final round is Kings Lynn Sept 4th and Christian may well race in
the 85cc group as yet it has not been decided we will let you know.
onward and upwards
